Elvin (Mingpu) Hu is a designer and researcher working on intent-aware and intelligent interfaces. He is a master's student at the Keio University Graduate School of Media Design, in the Embodied Media Lab.
Previously Senior Designer and Design Lead at Google, where he led design for Chrome's first Gemini-powered features, Chrome on Android and novel form factors, and the first refresh of the Chrome brand in eight years.

Ito replaces the flat tab strip with a sidebar of Flows: clusters of webpages grouped by inferred intent rather than by domain. It organizes proactively while the person keeps authority to correct it.

Ahead of the Pixel Fold and Pixel Tablet launches, I led a team of four to rebuild Chrome for tablets, improving drag and drop, window management, and desktop-site browsing.

Chrome needed a collection of iOS widgets in four weeks. I designed and built three of them, keeping the details intact: the Dino only appears once the widget has fully loaded.
